Visio is the industry standard network diagramming application. I recommend it for class assignments and projects.

With VMware you can run multiple operating systems concurrently. It's one of the best software products of recent years.

The OSI reference model gives us a logical framework for the analysis, design and troubleshooting of networks and network protocols. I have spent a number of years studying the OSI reference model and I know I do not "know it all" yet. As you read over this information, don't worry if it all seems a bit overwhelming. Much of what we study for the rest of the semester will refer back to this model and I promise that you will understand what this is all about by the time we get to the end of the course.
